Cleaners

Cleaning Green with Stonetech Professional™ Natural Stone products.

Refined Stone carries a line of products for protecting and cleaning natural granite and marble. Stonetech's Bullet Proof sealer is green friendly with ultra low VOC's (volatile organic compounds). Typical solvent based sealers contain 700g of VOC per liter. VOC's emit toxic fumes which harm the ozone. Bullet proof has 10 g of VOC's per liter. No toxic fumes or odor. It is a water based product with no flash point meaning it is flammable. Stonetech Professional™ can be purchased at the Refined Stone showroom.

Broom

Homebody's buddy

Sweep or vacuum your natural stone floors? Grit and dirt on a natural stone floor can damage the finish over time. Sweeping the dirt over the natural stone can wear down the polish over time. Use a vacuum with a brush attachment to pick up the heavier dirt and grit then damp mop the floor. Keeping the grit and dirt off the floor will help keep your stone looking like new for a very long time.

Expert's Opinion

Julia Child

Are marble pastry boards really necessary when making pastry or pie dough? We went online to see what the experts had to say. Page after page there was one expert opinion that was quoted by several experts. The late Julia Child recommended using a chilled slab of marble for mixing and rolling out dough. She can be seen talking about the virtues of the cold stone on an episode of The French Chef aired in the 1970's by PBS. She famously tells the audience that she picked up her slab, cut specifically to fit into her fridge, at a local headstone shop. You can get your marble pastry boards, custom cut to fit the fridge here at Refined Stone.
