Burano - Granite Kitchen Countertops, Clinton CT
This project is in an antique home, c.1675, but the kitchen is actually part of a new addition which includes a two story Great Room with a hand cut granite fire place. The countertops are 3cm granite called Burano. Burano granite has shades of brown and crystal grey with a rustic finish which has been flamed, then brushed to compliment the character of this charming shore line home. A color enhancer was applied which deepened the tones of the stone's color and gives a pearl-like luster to the mottled surface. The homeowner chose a 1/2 bull nose edge detail along with a black farm sink and black appliances to compliment the countertops. This edge detail shows how the polishing for the 1/2 bull nose accentuates the texture of the brushed finish.
